The meaning of the name of each emirate

Abu Dhabi: so named because it was home to antelopes, also said that the fishermen caught fawn on the island after the trouble and what caught him was tired of thirst and went looking for a well when he and his grandfather was the well had dried up and died fisherman and antelope and discovered their bodies later near the well but they called the well "Abu Dhabi" and her name Old or fire.


Dubai Thumbnail Dibba, a locust did not prove that his wings after so named because it was infested by locusts at the time to live, and link their names.


Sharjah: so named because it is located in the far east of the United Arab Emirates, which was then known. Ajman: so named relative to the Ajman tribe of Arab decent there.

Umm Al Quwain: The Origin of name or two because the location was a gathering point for units of land, sea days, Portuguese and other wars.

Ras Al Khaimah: The percentage of the tent which was erected Queen Zaba at the top of the mountain and the old name Julfar. ((A tent over the head))
Fujairah: The ratio to the eruption of water from springs under the mountains located there
